Quickly and effortlessly convert PDF into searchable documents
PDF OCR X uses state of the art OCR (optical character recognition) technology to accurately extract the text of PDF documents if the text is stored within an image. PDF OCR X proves its utility when working with scanned documents saved in the PDF format.
PDF OCR X comes with a simple and clean user interface onto which you can drag and drop the PDFs you need to convert into plain text or searchable PDF documents. Alternatively, you can use the Select file window to browse your Mac for the source document.
Customize the OCR conversion settings based on your needs
Once selected, PDF OCR X allows you to manually adjust the OCR conversion settings, choose the output format, choose the language of the document and provide the path of the output directory. The great thing about PDF OCR X is that you have the option to install additional languages directly from within the app.
When you are happy with your settings, you can click on the Convert button and wait for PDF OCR X to complete the process. All converted files are revealed in the main window from where you can open or reveal in Finder any of the processed documents.
Automatically rename converted items
By accessing the Preferences window, you’ll be able to configure PDF OCR X to change name of the output PDF files by adding a user-definable suffix. On top of that, you are allows to enable the “Auto-Open Converted Files” option and change the default conversion settings.
