Open PDFs in a book-like layout
Upon launching PDF Assistant Pro, the app’s User Manual is opened in a 2-page layout (of customizable colors) that resembles an opened book. Moreover, a top toolbar enables you to access almost all the options this program has to offer.
Furthermore, a major feature is the ability to highlight text with different colors and use strikethrough and underline on selected text. Compared to Preview, PDF Assistant Pro provides a few more colors for highlighting text.
Use a variety of annotation utilities
Another key feature is the rectangular selection that helps you crop the area which you have selected. Moreover, there are lots of other annotation tools, such as inserting squares, circles and lines (of adjustable width).
Other things you can add include outlined text with transparent or colored background, as well as inserting speech and thought bubbles. In addition, the font, text justification plus the shape and background colors can be adjusted.
Includes page thumbnails and table of contents
It is also worthy to mention that the pages of a document can be easily browsed via a transparent panel and so is the table of contents. A separate search window is also available. Of course, a bookmark manager and annotation manager are also included.
Another benefit of using PDF Assistant Pro is that it can export your PDF to the RTFD, RTF and TXT formats. Not many PDF readers support this feature.
A reliable PDF reader / annotator
To summarize, PDF Assistant Pro is a handy and slick-looking Mac OS X app designed to improve your book reading experience and offer a different workflow to your PDF annotation jobs.
