OneThingToday is a straightforward Mac OS X application that provides a simple solution to managing your tasks. The application is not your regular task manager app, but rather focuses on helping you get a new task done every day.

The user interface is actually a calendar that can include 1 to 4 weeks where you can enter a task name and description in a day. In addition to this, OneThingToday provides a ’sticky’ mode that displays today’s task in a simple window.

Working with OneThingToday is extremely simple and the workflow is straightforward. After entering the tasks for the next days and weeks, you can then switch to the sticky mode and track your daily task. You can easily switch to the calendar view if you want to edit or add tasks.

Navigating between weeks is also simple thanks to the toolbar buttons, menu bar options and keyboard shortcuts. You are able to go to the next or previous week or to quickly access the next or previous calendar. Another handy option is to go to today’s date with a click or press of a hotkey.

Several settings can be configured via the Preferences window where you can change the offset start of weeks by -1, 0 or +1 days, change the background color of the current day, set the visible number of weeks, adjust the calendar or sticky window opacity and toggle an option to autoformat lists in the sticky window.

In a nutshell, OneThingToday is a handy and reliable Mac OS X utility that plays the role of a daily task scheduler. Although it does not come with micromanaging features for scheduling hours and minutes, it does what it says and enables you to schedule a task each day.
