OCRTOOLS is a fully-featured and versatile application that promises to extract text from various image files and translate it into over 37 languages.

OCRTOOLS uses the OCR technology to recognize characters and convert the text information into plain text that you can use in other applications.

What is more, OCRTOOLS features a built-in translator capable to translate between numerous languages such as, English, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Swedish, Russian, Romanian, Polish, Norwegian, Hungarian, Greek, Arabic, Hindi, Hebrew and more.

OCRTOOLS features a use-friendly interface from which you have quick and easy access to various tools and features. The Pages side panel helps you browse and view all opened images and select the one you need to translate.

The available tools help you select and even crop the desired area of the image, zoom in or out and rotate the picture to the left or to the right. Once you have made your selection you can start the recognition process by simply clicking on the “Recognize” button.

What is more, you can select the source language and the language into which you want to translate the recognized text. The plain text format and the translation of the text is automatically displayed in the two panels located at the bottom of the main window.

Although OCRTOOLS offers support for numerous languages, we would not recommend this application for its translation abilities.

OCRTOOLS is capable of translating words but it cannot perform accurate translations from one language to another. The final result is not always grammatically correct or comprehensive. However, you can use OCRTOOLS to transform image files containing text into plain text.
