NotePlan For Mac

NotePlan aims to help you better plan your day without wasting too much time creating events, to-do lists, formatting notes, and so on.

The NotePlan utility integrates a calendar, a note taking area, and the possibility to format everything by using the popular Markdown markup.

Within the NotePlan main window, you can comfortably switch between the Calendar and Note view: you can use the first to keep track of everything you have to do each day and reserve the latter to store info you need to access frequently.

For your convenience, NotePlan can integrate with the OS X Calendar and Notes applications, which means that you don’t have to waste time creating your calendar from scratch.

Worth mentioning is that NotePlan will monitor the Calendar app and instantly reflect any changes, but the reverse is not applicable: the events you create within the NotePlan app will not be synced to the OS X utility.

The best part is that NotePlan associates a Markdown document to each calendar event, which means that you get to quickly input or access extensive details about your projects right inside the planner.

At the same time, NotePlan provides support for most Markdown formatting markups, including lists: you get to use this function to keep track of all the tasks you need to perform, and the listings will also be included in the calendar view.

The same Markdown editor is used in the Notes panel, except that the latter also includes the option to assign tags to your project. Both views come with simple yet powerful search tools, but tags prove more efficient if you want to see all the entries related to a particular subject.

NotePlan tries to make planning your daily activities as organic as possible: the classic Calendar view is paired with a Markdown editor that enables you to store project details and create todo lists.

NotePlan uses the same editor when dealing with individual notes, which you can keep organized by tabs to make them easier to find.
