PDF Merger For Mac

PDF Merger is a simple cross-platform application that enables you to merge multiple PDF documents into one. It features an easy-to-navigate window, but no extra features. What’s more, the project is open-source and cross-platform (Windows, OS X, Linux and other platforms with Java support).

Although developed in Java, PDF Merger’s user interface is polished and has a modern look to it. More importantly, the layout is straightforward and all buttons / options are neatly organized. To start merging PDFs, just click on the “Add PDFs to merge…” button.

A separate window that allows you to navigate to the documents you want to merge will be displayed. Unlike other apps, this one lets you select and import multiple PDFs at the same time. Once you add them, they are listed in the middle area of the main window.

You can change the order in which documents are merged by using the “Move Up” and “Move Down” buttons. You can clear the list of unwanted documents with the help of the “Remove PDF” button. Managing the PDF list is really simple, but support for drag and drop to rearrange files and for Delete or Backspace to remove files would have come in handy.

After the order is set, you must select the output name and path of the resulting PDF. All that is left to do now is to click on the “Start!” button. If you have added a few PDFs of lightweight size, the merging process is really fast. If there are tens of large documents, the merge takes a little longer, but the difference is not that noticeable.

All things considered, PDF Merger does a great job at what it is supposed to: join PDF documents. It might not feature extra functionality or configuration options, but provides a very straightforward solution for a common task.
