Mocha Keyboard is a straightforward OS X app that makes it possible for you to use your Mac as a Bluetooth keyboard for your iOS or Android smartphones or tablets.

Evidently, the main advantage is the fact that with the help of Mocha Keyboard, you will be able to write everything a lot faster from your Mac and send it from your phone.

This said, it is easy to imagine how Mocha Keyboard has the potential to help you, especially in business and work related situations. Let’s say that you need to compose and send large emails or texts from your work phone. Regardless of how fast you type on your phone, writing almost anything is at least twice as faster from a normal keyboard.

The practicality part taken care of, we can now move on and tell you other things you should know about this app. For starters, in order to use Mocha Keyboard, you will need to pair your Mac with your mobile device via Bluetooth.

This is a simple process, as for both Android and iOS devices, you will need to click Mocha Keyboard’s menu bar item and select the “Add new phone/tablet…” option. From there, you will need to go to your mobile device’s Setting menu and complete the pairing process with your Mac.

A thing to keep in mind though, you should always start the pairing process from your iOS or Android device, as starting it from your Mac is not recommended. One more thing, if you have accidentally done so and started the pairing from your Mac, you will need to delete the pairing entry and restart both your phone and your Mac.

Learning to use the application is not at all a big deal, as you only need to paste your content in the text field within Mocha Keyboard’s minimalist main window and to send it manually from your phone.

Of course, some customizability options are available within the Preferences menu: you can enable or disable the key animation, the automatic connection with the last used device, automatic connection closing when the device loses focus, the paste buffer, and the  warning - when the pasted content requires more than 30 lines.

If you often find yourself having to send lots of large emails and texts, then you should really give Mocha Keyboard a try out as it enables you to paste large quantities of text and to type a lot faster from your Mac directly to your phone.
