MindSnow 1.1

MindSnow is a free and Java based utility that helps you to create new ideas, solve problems and revise what you know.

MindSnow is a cross-platform application that can be used on any operating system that comes with support for the Java runtim (e.g. Mac OS X, Windows, Linux).

MindSnow randomly generates snowstorms of words and phrases. As they overlap, your mind will generate connections between the concepts, producing new ideas and solutions to problems. It's easy to brainstorm with MindSnow!

MindSnow's example wordlists help you solve life problems, pick a baby name, learn languages, invent new software, be creative with craftwork and photography, analyse investments, or think up ideas for stories and research papers.

MindSnow lets you survey phrases and concepts in a non-linear manner. Sit back and relax, and let your brain organise your thoughts and improve your memory. It can also be fun for children who are learning languages.

Here are some key features of "MindSnow":

Brainstorming:
· to come up with new ideas for software (e.g. computing.txt)
· to think of student essay titles/themes
· to come up with ideas for research paper ideas (e.g. economics.txt)
· to come up with ideas for stories/novels/plots (e.g. 1200-popular-words.txt)

Problem-solving:
· type in words that describe the aspects and constraints of your problem.
· e.g. 'money, house, debt, savings,'... (look at life-problems.txt)
· let ideas float past until a solution springs to mind.

Language learning:
· input "word/translation" pairs, and let the words float past

Revision:
· language revision (use foreign words)
· key concepts (for a normal course). Share the file with your friends.
