The Klammer OS X application makes it extremely simple and straightforward to work with Microsoft Outlook e-mails, formatted as either Winmail.dat, OFT or MSG files.

Because Apple’s Mail.app does not feature native support for these type of messages, Klammer comes to the rescue allowing you to open them, preview them using Quicklook or convert them to the EML format that Mail.app is compatible with.

Moreover, Klammer can also help you to quickly access the attachments stored within the Winmail.dat, OFT or MSG you want it to process.

This way, you can extract objects like calendar events, appointments, and tasks that Outlook users have sent you, and rapidly export them as vCalendar files or import them within any of your calendars in iCal as ics files.

The Klammer utility comes with support for viewing rich-formatted messages, together with inline pictures, hyperlinks and even tables. All these items can be quickly perused, thus avoiding wasting your time by opening them one by one.

Spotlight integration is yet another Klammer feature designed to make it easier for you to manage OFT, MSG and Winmail.dat files Outlook messages by helping you search for subjects, contacts, text content, and attachment names as text.

What’s more, Klammer features a Bulk Convert tool designed to speed up your overall workflow by helping you convert batches of Winmail.dat, MSG, and OFT files with a click of the mouse.

These files will be converted to either EML (e-mails), VCF (contacts) or ICS (iCal) files, depending on their contents. All that you’ll have to do is to select the folder containing your Outlook files and the destination directory where the OS X friendly files will be saved.

Once the conversion process has ended, you can open a Finder window, centered on the destination folder, and import them into Mail, Address Book and iCal.
