Kitabu is a simple e-book reader that offers you the possibility to view EPUB documents. You can use its Library pane as a streamlined EPUB browser for your entire collection: you can see the documents in thumbnail or list mode, and double click to open them.

The EPUB file format is very popular for sharing e-books since it is designed to provide support for reflowable content.

As a result, the text stored in an EPUB document can be rearranged, allowing you to optimize the way you view it on any device.

Kitabu makes use of the file format capabilities by allowing you to change the font style, size, and arrangement: you can view the text in up to 3 different columns (just press the Columns button multiple times until you reach the desired result).

Kitabu enables you to change the viewer’s background color. The app allows you to view the Table of Contents in a separate panel, and you can navigate the book by jumping to different chapters.

The only way to navigate the EPUB content is through the bottom slide bar that uses percentages and not page numbers for the current position.

Moreover, resizing the app's window creates issues when it comes to showing the pages correctly: you get to see multiple columns even if the function is not enabled.

To sum it all up, Kitabu is a simple EPUB reader that can open EPUB documents in no time, but that unfortunately does lack the possibility to view the current page number, although it does provide you with a progress bar at the bottom designed to help you view get a quick view of how much of the book you've read.
