Inboard For Mac

Inboard is a macOS application that enables you to easily organize the photos and screenshots from your Mac’s hard disk drive.

Moreover, Inboard provides an intuitive user interface where your pictures are organized into a library (accessed via the left pane). You are allowed to add any number of images to the library.

Pictures are displayed as thumbnails in the middle pane and you can adjust their size using the slider above the thumbnail pane. What’s more, you can sort the images by date and title as well as in ascending or descending order.

A pane on the right side of the window enables you to preview a selected image and tag it. Tag support is an important feature that helps you quickly organize and find pictures.

Inboard's upper toolbar provides a button for browsing and adding images to the Inboard library and a search bar to find images by name or tag. Another way you can organize images are folders, which can be created by clicking on the Plus button from the lower left corner of the main window.

The list of features continues with support for taking screenshots and adding them to the Inboard library automatically. This can be done using the menu bar item option or by using the CMD + SHIFT + 5 global hot-key.

In other words, the status bar item enables you to take a screenshot of an app window or of popular browsers (such as Safari and Firefox), if they’re opened. Inboard also adds support for Dribble, a popular image sharing platform. You can, thus, automatically import the images you like on Dribble to the Inboard library.

The Inboard application provides a little extra flexibility through its Preferences window. You can toggle an option to show the tagging window after importing a picture or to keep the Inboard Helper running in the background when quitting Inboard.
