It makes it possible for you to take the colors from your Mac's screen and scatter them around in your home with the help of Philips Hue and LIFX lighting devices. #Ambient lighting #Philips Hue #Dynamic ambient lighting #Philips Hue #LIFX #Ambient
HueVision is a straightforward and cool OS X application that was designed from the ground up to enhance the light effects produced by your Philips Hue or LIFX light devices.
Basically, HueVision enables you to “take” the colors seen on your Mac’s screen and spread them into your own home. Straight out of the bat, HueVision’s qualities highly recommend for situations when you want a more immersive experience while watching movies or while gaming on your Mac, with dynamic ambient lightning in the background.
Good news when it comes to HueVision’s interface, as it doesn’t take long to figure out what’s what: on the top side of its main window, you will get an accurate live reading of your Mac’s display, while on the middle part, you will find a list with all your paired lighting devices.
What’s more, looking at the bottom side of its main window, you will find a simple control panel that enables you to control the brightness and saturation of your lights, as well as the frequency and transition duration times.
In order to take advantage of what your dynamic ambient lightning devices can offer, HueVision enables you to use the color from the middle of your Mac’s screen, or, a far better alternative, to manually adjust the position for the “bulbs” .
This means that, you can actually control the exact area of your Mac’s screen that you want to be copied by the lighting devices. Evidently, the more lighting devices you have, the greater your customizability options will be in terms of output color.
While HueVision is still in its early stages of development life, there are one or two small issues that we feel we must point out.
The first and most important is that, despite being fairly simple to use, HueVision’s comes with absolutely no documentation, and, secondly, that the support for custom profiles would be a welcomed addition as it would enable you to not only save their settings, but to instantly switch between two presets with just a few clicks.
If you are the type of person for whom the overall atmosphere is as important as the actual game you are playing or the movie you are watching, then HueVision is a must-have app, as it enables you to get the most out of your Philips Hue and LIFX light devices.
