Horae For Mac

Horae can be used to view and create MIDI timecodes and SMPTE longitudinal timecodes in order to help you control your show. The app comes with a fairly intuitive user interface, but does not include any kind of support documentation, which means that you must learn how to use it on your own.

Horae automatically detects all the destinations and devices connected to your Mac and allows you to choose the sync source from a simple drop down menu. Moreover, the app allows you to add as many LTC readers and generators as you like.

The Horae built in clock is able to send the MTC to a MIDI destination connected to your system. By using the Horae Playback function, you get to sync the timecodes generated by the tool with data incoming from other apps.

Horae comes with a Destinations and Devices panel where you can see all the MIDI outputs available in your system, but also the devices created by the application. Note that each MIDI destination comes with a checkbox that must be ticked if you want to timecodes routed to that location.

What’s more, Horae offers support for the Open Sound Control network protocol that allows you to manage both the music devices connected to your Mac, and any audio software. As a result, Horae can be used to view timecodes over your entire network.

Horae is capable to read and generate both MIDI and SMPTE timecodes, can route the data to MIDI destinations, allows you to create LTC reader and generator devices, and comes with support for the OSC network protocol.

Unfortunately, since the developers do not provide any type of documentation, if you encounter any issues while working with Horae you will have to manage on your own.
