Sometimes, the CDs and DVDs you insert in your Mac’s built-in CD / DVD drive get stuck out of the blue. It might be a hardware or software problem. To eject your disk safely, you can use Terminal based commands as well as specialized software, such as Help Eject My CD.
As its name says, Help Eject My CD is a simple utility that enables you to force eject a stuck CD / DVD with just a click. What’s more, it also tells you if the issue is hardware related, in which case it advises you to contact Apple and find a repair center.
Help Eject My CD can also eject 8-cm disks when they just won’t come out by using low-level system tools. It also provides support for slim drives.
The application features a big “Eject Button” in the middle of its main window and nothing more. After clicking the “Eject” button, a separate dialog window called “Eject Request Sent” will be displayed.
