Flightradar24 for Mac
Airplanes fly over our heads daily but you rarely know where are the planes headed or where they come from. Flightradar24 is a fairly intuitive application designed to help you monitor the air traffic around the globe from the comfort of your Mac’s desktop.
Flightradar24 will display the planes traveling on a map in real time and offers details about the route of each aircraft, the speed, the altitude, the airline logo and more. You can filter the entries by airline, plane speed or altitude and more. In addition, the included search capabilities enable you to find a specific flight.
Flightradar24 seems to be a desktop client for the flightradar24.com website and you can navigate to the web page and check if your area is covered by the application. Flightradar24 allows you to monitor the air traffic on different continents (Europe, America, Asia, Oceania and Africa) but certain locations might be omitted.
Take into account that Flightradar24 only displays the aircrafts that are equipped with an ADS-B transponder or if the route is going over the US or Canadian air space (the app can collect data from FAA with a 5 minutes delay).
All in all, Flightradar24 is a great application if you are an enthusiasts that wants to know more about the airplanes that fly by you daily, even though in some cases the area might not be covered or the information is not 100% accurate.
