FixEDID is a free and lightweight Mac OS X application for hackintosh computers designed to generate overrides for Apple Displays automatically.
FixEDID features a compact and intuitive user interface that enables you to select the display, enter the vendor ID, device ID and select the EDID binary file. In order to obtain your EDID.hex file, you should use the DarwinDumper utility (version 2.7.6 or later).
Moreover, you can choose the Apple iMac display you want to emulate, the display class and then click on the “Make” button to generate Apple Displays.
Two additional options are included in the main window. First of all you can toggle an option to ignore IODisplayPrefs in the current display. Secondly, you can choose to add / fix monitor ranges.
After setting the desired parameters and clicking on the “Make” button, several files will be generated on your Mac’s drive: the patched EDID binary, DisplayMergeNub.kext as well as the patched displayoverride.
What's new in FixEDID 2.3.2 Build 2:
- Fixed aspect ratio detection, there was a resolution issue that necessitated reimplementing detection based on GCD value (greatest common divisor)
