DockTimer is a streamlined and simple to use Mac OS X application that can be used as an everyday timer for keeping track of simple things or counting the time until something occurs. As its name says, the app displays a timer on its Dock icon with both name and time information.
To get started with DockTimer, you must first access the Preferences window where individual timers can be configured. Although you must create timers in the preferences to make them visible in the Dock icon menu, you can create temporary timers, as well. Creating a timer requires that you only enter a name and desired time.
After creating timers, they are displayed in a list in the preferences and in the dark right-click menu of the Dock icon. Moreover, you can delete or modify timers at any time. To start a timer, just right click the Dock icon and select the timer of your liking. Some control options include stopping / resuming and starting the last timer.
In the Dock icon, you can view either the time, the name or both. What’s more, the timer window can also be displayed and, at the end of the countdown, the Dock icon can optionally bounce and play a sound with custom volume level.
To summarize, DockTimer is quite a pleasant OS X app that can come in handy in a variety of situations. With it support for keeping a list of timers, flexible settings and notifications, DockTimer can be well worth every penny, if you are looking for a no-frills timer app.
