Daylight is a beautiful looking Earth map that comes with a simple yet quite innovative feature: the possibility to keep tabs on how the daylight is distributed across the globe in real-time.

Moreover, the app will display a country map of the entire Earth, with curves delimiting the day and night areas around the world, as well as gradient shadows designed to represent different twilight shades.

The Daylight app is an easy to use tool. Once you launch it on your Mac desktop, the map will be automatically updated using the exact position of the sunrise/sunset boundary line.

If you need to find further information regarding a given point on the day light map displayed by this app, you can just click the map and Daylight will automatically display a pop-up dialog with information such as its latitude and longitude and the time for dawn, sunrise, and sunset for that given area.

When you want to see where the twilight zone will be on a given future point in time, you can use Daylight’s “Pick date and time” dialog to choose the moment in time to be rendered on the map.

You can also effortlessly move forward and backwards in time using Daylight’s top toolbar buttons or the “Slide through time” button from its main window’s bottom left corner which will open a slide based controller for the date and time variables you need to alter.

If you want to get a bigger look on the details of Daylight’s map, the utility also comes with a built-in full-screen mode, designed to help you get the best view of its real-time daylight animation.
