Synchronize media files from various mobile devices with your Mac via a local wireless network, ensuring that your private data remains secure. #Synchronize media #IOS sync #Android sync #Synchronize #IOS #Android
There are many ways to transfer media files captured with your iPhone or Android device to your Mac, but these often require you to send data through cloud storage services. However, these may not always be secure, as any data uploaded to the Internet could fall into the wrong hands.
DAEMON Sync aims to help you with this problem by allowing you to create a local server on your Mac, and then connect to it via Wi-Fi from any mobile device.
This utility is only useful if you also install its iOS or Android versions on your mobile devices. They will automatically scan the local network for any server that has been configured. Once located, you need to enter a PIN code provided by the Mac application to authenticate the device.
After a connection has been established, you can begin the synchronization process from your mobile phone and specify how often this operation should be performed automatically.
The biggest advantage offered by DAEMON Sync is that it does not rely on an online platform. It allows you to avoid sending personal files across the Internet or storing them in online libraries whose security measures are always in danger of being breached.
Once a mobile phone has been authorized, it is displayed in the Devices panel, where you can view its name and the date of the last synchronization. You can specify if notifications should be sent and whether or not the local library can be browsed from that device.
This worked as expected with our Android device, but as soon as we tried connecting to the server with an iPhone, none of the aforementioned details could be viewed anymore and, as a result, it became impossible to manage notifications or permissions. Moreover, we could not observe the last sync time or revoke a device’s authorization.
DAEMON Sync is a handy utility that provides a helpful service if you want to synchronize media across multiple mobile devices and your Mac without resorting to cloud services. However, you may have problems configuring the application when connecting to the server with an iOS phone.
