CountNFind is a minimalist Mac app that can be used to analyze the content of a certain directory. The utility in no longer under development and the workflow does not match the recent standards, but CountNFind still runs even on Mac OS X Mavericks.
The CountNFind main window is separated in two tabs: Count and Search. To get started, navigate to the Count panel, select the folder you want to analyze and press the “Go” button. The app will examine the contents and displays the number of included files, folders or items.
Make sure you save the results file by pressing the “Save” button placed on the bottom of the Count panel, because you will need it to find specific files inside the folder. In the Search panel you must provide the path to the results file and then press the “Index” button to be able to perform searches.
In the Search field simply input the text string that should be contained in the file name and CountNFind will display all the results in list mode. If you double click on a certain entry, you will be directed to a Finder window containing that specific file.
What's new in CountNFind 1.1:
