ClarvyTunes For Mac

ClarvyTunes is a controller application designed to work with your iTunes and Spotify applications. Once the utility is installed, instead of interacting with the audio players, you can select the playlist and manage the playback through the stylish ClarvyTunes user interface.

For everything to work correctly, either the iTunes or Spotify players must be running before you launch the ClarvyTunes application. If not, ClarvyTunes will offer to launch them for you and prompt you to restart the app.

If you are trying to test the app capabilities you must not go through with this recommendation: since the app comes with a 1 launch trial, you will not be able to use it again until you provide a license code. The same rule applies if you are relaunching the utility to switch to Spotify (the feature is still in beta stage).

ClarvyTunes comes with a small tutorial that presents the app’s interface, so finding your way around is quite easy. You get to explore the iTunes library and select the playlist or track you want to listen, and you can even get to view and edit the song’s lyrics.

Within the controller’s main panel, you can see the album artwork and the track and artist name. Moreover, the window includes elementary playback control functions: you can start or pause the track, go back or forth to the next track, or adjust the volume.

Via the app’s Preferences window, you can effortlessly switch between different interface themes, toggle the notifications activations, or manage the ClarvyTunes window visibility. Unfortunately, you cannot access the app’s window with a hotkey, so you must preserve its icon in the Dock.

To conclude, ClarvyTunes can be used to manage your iTunes or Spotify playlists without having to bring up the audio player’s interfaces, but the controller comes with few interface themes and does not integrate hotkeys that would streamline the process.
