Nothing beats a calendar when it comes to keeping things organized over a longer period of time. The macOS Calendar app is quite good, but it does have some deficiencies. Like most of Apple’s built-in utilities, it lacks customization and advanced functionality, and it cannot be accessed from the menu bar.

CalendarMenu can replace the default Calendar utility while including more features in a convenient menu bar app. Aside from a quick-access calendar, it allows you to quickly visualize events over the current month, as well as differentiate between normal and all-day events.

As mentioned, the calendar can be opened from the menu bar, which is already something you don’t get in macOS by default. You can navigate between months, see which upcoming events you need to keep an eye on, and highlight specific days to view additional details. Calendar widgets can also be placed in the Notification Center or on your desktop.

Events are imported from your available calendars automatically, and you can choose which of these are included. Reminders are also added from available lists, and birthdays are extracted directly from your address book. Ideally, you will have everything you need in one place.
