Support for a wide variety of e-book formats
Beside the personalizable interface, BookReader also provides support for the most common e-book formats. Hence, you can read, handle and organize your DRM free e-books as log as they are stored using one of the following file formats: iBooks, ePUB, HTML, fb2, webarchive, DOC, TXT, RTF and RTFD.
What is more, BookReader allows you to read ePUB books that feature multimedia content such as animations, interactive 3D contents, HTML5 videos and other media types supported by ePUB3 and HTML5.
From BookReader’s main window you can easily import books from the iTunes library or your Mac’s hard disk and switch between the list, thumbnail and shelf view mode. In addition, you can mark the currently selected book as favorite read or unread and sort the book list by the author, title, genre, tags, size, added or opened date.
The Sidebar allows you to quickly access your list of favorite books and view the book cover of the selected e-book. Thanks to the built-in search form you can filter the displayed list of books and find the desired book with just a few keystrokes.
Customizable book reader
Once you decided which book you want to read, you just have to double click on the book to open it in the built-in reader. From here you can take advantage of the natural two-page viewing mode and enjoy the page flipping animation and sounds.
Moreover, you can turn pages without touching your keyboard or mouse and use the Leap Motion controller. The Preferences window helps you enable or disable the controller and adjust the swiping minimum speed.
Furthermore, you can customize the bookshelf and book background appearance, change the encodings, as well as the font family and size, re-assign the hotkeys and more.
