    Bevy description

A very easy to use application launcher

Bevy is an application launcher that shows all of your applications in a single window that can be opened with a global hot key, from the menu bar or by clicking its dock icon.

You just specify folders where your applications are located and Bevy creates visual groups of icons for each folder.

To help you quickly find the application you're looking for, a key press will highlight applications with matching names, or you can drag-and-drop a file onto Bevy's window to highlight compatible applications. How cool is that?

In addition, you can hide rarely used apps and un-installers so they won't clutter your window. And Bevy is always up-to-date because it uses Spotlight to keep track of changes so you don't have to.

And Bevy uses Spotlight to stay up-to-date. When you remove apps, add apps or just move them around, Bevy updates its view to match.

NOTE: To buy Bevy via the App Store an Apple account is required.

Here are some key features of "Bevy":

    · Create groups of icons from folders you specify. No adding icons one-by-one.
    · Doesn’t take up screen real estate. It’s there when you need it and gone when you don’t.
    · Convenience. Use a global hot key, the menu bar or the Dock icon for quick and easy access.
    · Highlight matching applications with a key press. Find what you need quickly.
    · Drag-and-drop a file to highlight compatible applications. How cool is that?
    · Hide icons you don’t want to see. Little AppleScripts and uninstallers won’t clutter your window.
    · Always up-to-date. Bevy is using Spotlight in order to keep track of changes so you don’t have to.

What's New in This Release: [ read full changelog ]

    · Fixed - Fixed error handling in color sorting code that could cause a crash when scanning app icons (usually at startup)
    · Changed - Improved handling of key presses...
    · Changed - Command-W, Escape and Command-Period will now close any window or sheet
    · Changed - When filtering app names with the keyboard, Escape and Command-Period now clear your entry, then either will close the window if pressed again
    · Changed - You can use the delete key when filtering app names with the keyboard
    · Changed - Controls and group dividers are now drawn in black when the window background is completely transparent
    · Changed - Rescan All Apps will now force a reload of all app icons instead of reusing existing icons. This can be used to fix an application icon that becomes generic after that application updates itself (using Sparkle or another built-in mechanism).

Softpedia guarantees that Bevy 1.0.10 is 100% CLEAN, which means it does not contain any form of malware, including spyware, viruses, trojans and backdoors. [read more >]
