Battery Hero is a lightweight and easy-to-use Mac OS X application that notifies you about charging your MacBook’s battery at 40 % and uncharging it at 80 %. The application is based on the idea that keeping your Mac’s battery between 40 % and 80 % will help improve its life and performance.

Although you can easily monitor the battery life percentage from the default display on the system bar, you will not always remember to plug and unplug the charger at exactly the 40 / 80 percentages. The app is designed to provide a visual and audio alert when those events occur.

Furthermore, the menu bar panel looks elegant and comes in a compact shape. It tells you just how much time there is until the battery threshold reaches 40 %. When it does, the app tells you to start charging your Macbook until your battery life reaches 80%. Of course, when it reaches 80%, the app tells you to unplug your laptop.

An additional option is to postpone (snooze) the charging notification. Thus, you can click on a button that will command the app to remind you in 5 minutes. This feature is great when you don’t have access to a power socket at that moment.

Taking everything into consideration, Battery Hero is a minimalistic reminder application that alerts you when you need to charge and uncharge your Macbook in order to maintain the battery life between the 40/80 threshold. It offers efficient simple and audio notifications.
