Battery Guardian 1.0.1
Simple menu bar tracking
The application displays a Heart icon on the menu bar that will turn red when it is time to empty your battery. Furthermore, clicking on it will display the number of remaining days until you need to deplete the battery, as well as the healthy state based on a star rating.
In addition, the app was intelligently designed in the sense that when the battery is depleted, the app will reset the timer back to 30 days. What’s more, immediately after you deplete the battery, the Battery Guardian will automatically begin to track the next reminder.
Calendar and Reminders integration
In order for the utility to send and receive information from your computer, it needs to install a helper utility. After installing the helper, you will be able to add reminders in your Calendar and Reminders applications which come by default with OS X.
If you select to add a reminder in the Calendar, the app will create an event set exactly after 30 days. This event includes an alert (with 24 hours in advance) and a note telling you to unplug the power supply and empty the battery completely. In the Reminders app, the app creates only a new category, but no notes.
Focuses on improving your MacBook’s battery life
All things considered, Battery Guardian is a nifty Mac OS X utility based on Apple’s advice to improve the life of your MacBook’s battery by depleting it on a monthly basis. The app creates a recurrent Calendar event and helps you monitor the number of days via the system bar.
