Zoom It For Mac

Not all macOS applications come with magnifying capabilities or you might not know how to access them instantly. Zoom It is a small app that stays out of your way at all times and can be quickly summoned whenever you need it.

Zoom It comes with system wide hotkeys that can be used to open the loupe window immediately. Since the window will be centered on your cursor, the entire process will feel very natural.

The app will also place a menu in your status bar which you can use to customize it’s behavior and to access the Settings window. You can use the Option + Z keyboard combination to reveal and keep the magnifier window on your screen until you finish working with it. The same hotkeys allows you to hide the window (the combination can be change via the Settings window).

Zoom It enables you to create your own hotkeys for most of the app’s capabilities: showing up the loupe temporarily, toggling between the round or rectangular loupe, increasing and decreasing the window size, adjusting the magnification level (can go up to 500%) or capturing a screenshot. Of course, some of these settings can also be adjusted via the status bar menu.

The best part is that you can use the Zoom It magnifying window and continue your work at the same time: you can type, select or click on elements included in the zoomed area. This will prove extremely useful if you need to deal with a read only document that uses a very small font or if you need to check an image details, for example.

To sum up, Zoom It is a very useful application if you need to have access to a magnifying glass at all times, system wide, in a completely unobtrusive manner.
