AppTime For Mac

AppTime is an activity tracking application that can run in the background and record how much time you are spending in each OS X application.

Depending on what you use the apps for, you can readily determine what percentage of your daily activity is reserved for work or entertainment.

The AppTime utility resides in the status bar and starts recording data upon its launch. For your convenience, the app can start automatically at login, as soon as you make the necessary adjustment in the AppTime Preferences window.

Note that AppTime records your activity indiscriminately, and you cannot make it ignore a particular utility. Within the Preferences, you can also choose to include the login window and the screensaver engine to the list of monitored apps. This way, each second you spend on your Mac will be accounted for.

AppTime comes with a Results panel where you can see the list of all used apps: you can see the name, the timer value and the percentage it represents out of the total amount. The apps are sorted by how much time you spent in them.

Via the AppTime Preferences you can choose how many top apps are to be displayed, and the time interval that is to be monitored: total, from now, today, this week, this month, or this year.

The same customization options are available when generating activity reports that can be saved as PDF documents, or shared directly by mail or on social media as image files.

All things considered, AppTime can help you understand how are you spending your time while you are in front of the computer. This way, you can determine if there is room for improvement when it comes to your productivity level.

AppTime also allows you to export the automatically generated activity reports and facilitates sharing your accomplishments with others.
