Given the vast number of accounts we have to create for accessing various websites and services, a password generation tool is mandatory, unless you want to use the same passkey for every account.

APG is an app created for this exact purpose and a simple utility that generates passwords from an extensive dictionary, using a specified number of words, optionally split by separators.

While these are definitely easier to remember than passkeys containing special characters, the fact that many websites require numbers or symbols to be included reduces the app's usefulness.

APG makes use of a built-in dictionary file to extract words and place them in a random order. If you wish, you can insert additional terms to extend the existing library.

You can choose how many words can be included in the generated password and whether or not separators should be used.

Assuming you need more that one password for your accounts, you can have the APG application create any number of them and display them in a separate panel.

These can be edited, should you wish to make up combinations that are easier to remember, and then copied to the clipboard.

Because of its minimalist interface, APG is inherently user-friendly. Any operations can be performed with a few mouse clicks, making the utility ideal for those who do not want to configure advanced password generation parameters.

However, while it does perform its intended function well, the created passkeys may only be usable in certain situations, as many websites require special characters to be included when inserting login credentials.

In conclusion, APG is a potentially useful macOS application designed to allow you to create random passwords made up of words extracted from a dictionary file.
