iBench is an open source synthetic benchmark for Mac OS X Leopard that contains 21 tests (12 of integer workload and 9 of floating point) of real usage that allow you to check and compare the CPU and memory performance of your Mac.
A benchmark is an application that allows to measure the performance of many components, even hardware or software, like a data base system, a CPU, or a Web server.
Why are files in my Desktop after execution?
They are the results of the image tests. One represents the Mandelbrot set, a fractal generated by a floating point test. Others are result of the Gaussian blur, edge detection and JPEG compression tests.

Bug fixes:
· Solved an error on Core i5 and i7 based iMacs hardware identification.
Known issues:
· There is a bug that crashes iBench on the open file panel, please use list or icon view on it instead of columns view to avoid it until is solved.
