iBackup is a user-oriented and self-explanatory Mac application that makes it easy for you to backup and restore user data, system and application settings.
With iBackup’s help you can save the System Preferences, Mail, iPhoto, iTunes and other third-party applications settings.
The iBackup app offers you over 250 plugins for backup application settings, that enable you to restore settings and data of any given application or restore it to an earlier point in time.
Moreover, iBackup features support for multiple backup profiles that you can easily configure based on your needs. Thus, you can manually select the items you need to backup, provide scheduler information, change the backup folder settings, offer connection settings and manage the UNIX copy command and log file settings.
From iBackup’s main window you can view and manage all existing backup profiles, select the source folders you want to backup and initiate the backup process. In addition to the featured folders, you can add other source folders.
The Preferences window offers you the option to display or hide invisible files while browsing and hide or show the Library. iBackup can be configured to automatically start at login and log all its activity.
By accessing the Profiles tab, you can manage all your profiles and customize their settings with ease. Consequently, you can schedule your profiles and configure iBackup to run scripts or shut down your Mac when a backup is complete.
IBackup allows you to name the backup folder and add user name, computer name, date and time to folder name. The above mentioned log feature can be limited to store only a limited number of logs and send a copy of the log file via email to a given address.
In conclusion, if you are looking for an easy-to-use and reliable backup utility for your Mac, then you should definitely try iBackup for yourself and decide if it is the right app for you.
