WiFinder is a self-explanatory Mac OS X application that makes it easy for you to quickly and effortlessly discover wireless networks available near your current location.

With WiFinder’s help you can scan for all available wireless networks and find unused channels that you might use in order to reduce the interference from other WiFi signals.

As follows, from WiFinder’s user-oriented interface you can view a list with all detected WiFi networks along with detailed information about their authentication method, noise level, signal strength, BSSID, channel band, number and width.

What is more, WiFinder automatically generates a real-time signal strength and noise level chart that you can monitor and analyze over extended periods of time for any of the discovered wireless network.

On top of that, WiFinder collects geolocation data associated with the IP address of the wireless network and displays its location on Google maps. You can easily switch between the Street, Satellite and Hybrid view with just a click of a mouse button.

The context menu offers you the option to join the selected network, attach a note, mark it as favorite, change its label color, remove it from your list. You can hide or reveal missing, ignored, closed, open and ad-hoc networks.

By accessing the File menu, you can open a new scanner and load or save the history while the Preferences window helps you switch between different network cards. Moreover, you can change the scanning interval and configure WiFinder to auto-join any given network.
