Graphical user interface for the Memtest command line utility that offers you the possibility to verify your memory's status by performing test loops. #GUI wrapper #Memory testing #Monitor memory #GUI #Wrapper #Memory
Rember is a small application that aims to help you work with the memtest command line application without having to deal with the Terminal. The app offers you the option to control the test through its interface and logs everything.
As you launch the Rember application, the utility will evaluate your current machine and provide details about the computer’s built-in memory. The app provides details about the memory type, size, speed and used slot. Note that you can opt not to see this information on startup.
The next step is to switch to the Rember interface and set the amount of memory allocated for testing: all or only a certain amount inserted by the user. The same area allows you to type the number of loops that are to be performed: you can input a value or choose to run the maximum amount.
All you have to do next is press the Test button, and Rember will start performing various tests while you get to monitor the progress in its main window. Take into consideration that, even though you can set the number of loops, you don’t have control over the type of tests that are performed.
Once the process is over, Rember lets you know if all tests have been passed and offers details about the total built-in memory, the available memory, the requested amount, the memory allocated for testing.
You get to see the number of loops that has been selected, the total loops that have been completed by the memtest application, the start and end time, and the total execution time. The data can be sent to the printer or saved in a TXT file.
Similarly, you get to opt to log the app’s activity in verbose mode and save everything to a text document.
Rember offers you the possibility to evaluate the state of your Mac’s memory by relying on the memtest command line tool. However, the app provides a graphical user interface for interacting with memtest, so you don’t have to configure the tests via the Terminal.
