GLview For Mac

GLview is a free and streamlined macOS application designed to make it easy to view detailed information about your OpenGL enabled graphics card, and about its various extensions and APIs, such as GLX, GLU and WGL.

In other words, GLview is a highly informative utility that makes it straightforward to view your graphics card’s the vendor name, the renderer name with the implemented version,  and exhaustive info on the OpenGL 3D accelerator’s extensions.

Via the main window you can access several tabs: Summary (of your graphic card information), OpenGL (divided into System info and Core features), the Extensions (with the Renderer Info, Capabilities and Extensions sub-folders).

On each of them, a comprehensive presentation of the respective feature will be displayed within the window, allowing you to analyze your graphics card’s capabilities in detail.

The Tests tab makes it possible to quickly perform a number of benchmark tests using the video renderer you can select via the top left Renderers drop down menu. The tests can be run in full-screen mode and their options can be customized according to the level of stress you want the renderer to go through.

From the Database tab you can browse a list of all supported vendors which will allow you to get a quick overview of the capabilities included within a wide array of graphics cards.

The reports displayed in each tab can be saved using the “Save as text” top left button, a useful feature if you need to troubleshoot various graphics problems or if you need to compare the capabilities of two or more graphics cards.

All things considered, the GLview is a streamlined and user-friendly system and video card information viewer, as well as a simple-to-use graphics card tester.
