The metadata of any file or folder can be easily modified if you have the appropriate tools. Touch is a small utility that offers you the possibility to change the creation or modification date and time using random or specific values.

The application provides support for drag and drop actions so, to import files, you must drop them on top of the main window. At the same time, you can use the Add button placed in the top toolbar of the window.

You are able to view the items that will be modified in list form in the main window. On the bottom, you can view how many files have been imported, and you can choose to process only the items that are currently selected.

Further customization options are available in the Preferences window: you can enable the confirmation prompt, you can have the processed items automatically removed from the list, and you can enable the list auto-saving mode when the application quits.

What’s more, via the Preferences you can choose which information you want to “touch up”: the creation date, the modification date or both. You can use the current date and time values, you can input specific values, or you can have the computer generate random values (dates between 1970 and 2040, from current date to 2040, from current date to 1970).

Since Touch is able to manipulate multiple files at the same time, all you have to do is make the necessary settings and then press the “Touch” button placed in the main window’s toolbar.

To sum it all up, Touch proposes a straightforward and easy to use solution for quickly adjusting the creation and modification time of your file and folders. However, you must remember to make the necessary adjustments in the Preferences beforehand.
