The Finder’s contextual menu usually provides access to frequently used tools and functions in an attempt to streamline you workflow. FinderPop is an easy to use System Preferences pane that offers you the possibility to extend the list of items included in the contextual menu.
FinderPop is a System Preferences pane which means that it comes with a built-in installation system: all you have to do is provide the administrator password and choose to install it for all users, or only for the current account.
Upon installation, FinderPop creates a “FinderPop Items” folder within the Library directory, and all the files, folders, or apps included in that folder will be automatically added to the contextual menu. Note that you do not have to actually move items to that folder: it is enough to place an alias to the original.
Besides the possibility to extend the Finder’s contextual menu, FinderPop comes with a couple of keyboard shortcuts designed to further optimize your workflow: the “Command+Option” hotkey activates the “Get Info” panel, while pressing the Command key when clicking on an item will open a Finder window containing the selected file or folder.
The “Command+Option+Control” combination will send the selected item to the Trash, pressing the Command and Control keys while selecting a folder will activate a Contents menu, and clicking the menubar while holding down the Shift key will quickly display the Desktop’s Contents menu.
FinderPop manages to add a selection of streamlined and productive options to your Finder’s contextual menu without making its presence known in any way. Once you manage to memorize all the various keyboard shortcuts, the tools integrate into your routine effortlessly.
What's new in FinderPop 2.5.7:

- In FinderPop's "Move/Copy/Alias" dialog, you can control-click the
- "Alias" button and FinderPop will create symlinks instead of aliases.
- Fix minor bug in the "Move To..." and "Copy To..." scripts introduced last time (in the 'FinderPop Extras' folder.)
