Cleans the ._ and .DS_Store files from removable media. #DS_Store cleaner #Fseventsd remover #Delete Spotlight-V100 #Clean #Remove #DS_Store
DriveCleaner is a free and easy to use handy Finder toolbar item that will clean your thumb drives and other removable media of those pesky invisible files your Mac generates on FAT drives, stuff like ._ resource fork files, .DS_Store files, and the .fseventsd, .Spotlight-V100, and .Trashes folders at the root level of the drive.
To install DriveCleaner, drag it to your Applications folder and drag it up to your Finder toolbar. To use DriveCleaner, open the drive you want to clean, then click just click on the DriveCleaner icon.
Incidentally, DriveCleaner should still work, even if it's not in the Finder toolbar, just by launching it with Spotlight. The window of the root folder of the drive you want to clean needs to be active, though. NOTE: DriveCleaner works recursively to delete ._ and .DS_Store files, so there are likely performance issues with large file hierarchies.
