Broomstick is a very easy to use application that allows you to quickly hide menubar icons. While most apps that create a menubar icon allow you to hide it, some apps don’t provide this option. Broomstick lets you take back control of your menubar!

Broomstick lets you hide the following apps: Air Video Server, Caffeine, ChronoSync, CrashPlan, DropCopy, Dropbox, Flutter, Flux, GrabBox, iTeleport Connect, LogMeIn Memeo Backup, Spotlight, and Wakoopa Tracker.

Broomstick works by changing the permissions of the application’s files so that the application can not display its icon.

Some apps, such as Dropbox, do not display anything in the menubar, however other apps just display a blank space. To get around this, you can use the menubar order customisation feature of Broomstick to ensure that your menubar remains beautiful.

What's new in Broomstick 0.9.1 Beta:

  • You can now hide Alfred, Apple’s menubar icons, BetterTouchTool CloudApp, CPU Speed Accelerator, Evernote, Growl, Google Drive, Insync, Last.fm, Splashtop Streamer and LogMeIn Hamachi!
  • This update also fixes a couple of typos, improves accuracy with the ordering of the menubar, and for crowdsourcing.
