Hasher offers you the possibility to quickly calculate the hash for any file or text string using different algorithms, without making you deal with complex tools. The results can be easily copied to your clipboard and used with third party apps or services as a security measure, or in any other way you see fit.

The Hasher user interface is resumed to a single window organized in two different tabs: the first one allows you to work with files while the latter can handle text strings. To get started, select the type of data you want to process.

Note that Hasher generates results for each of the three supported algorithms, so all you have to do is select the one you wish to employ and press the copy button: the utility will place the data on your clipboard.

In the Hasher File panel, you get to manually set the path to the file you want to process, or use the Finder menu to navigate to its location: the app will extract the path on its own, and you will be able to see it in the appropriate area.

Within the Hasher window, you get to see the file name, size, and the creation and modification date. Just press the Calculate button and you will be able to see the hash results in the bottom area of the Hasher main window.

The same procedure applies when working with text: simply type or paste the text string you want to use in the appropriate field. Hasher evaluates the text, lets you know how many characters are included, and readily generates the hash once you press the Calculate button.
