Hide files in a secure container, and store passwords, credit card info, or important notes, all locked behind encryption via a master password. #Hide File #Password Manager #Secure Storage #Hide #Password #Secure
There’s no easy way on macOS to make files inaccessible to anyone else using your device. Even hiding them isn’t straightforward, and they can still be revealed with a simple hotkey at any time.
Concealer is sort of a mix between a file hider and password/account manager. It lets you create a secure volume where you can store sensitive files, and it can also be used to safeguard passwords, card details, notes, and other info.
This feature is pretty straightforward. When a file storage is created, it sets up a volume that can only be mounted from within the app’s interface. When mounted, you can transfer files normally using Finder, and it will be ejected on demand or when the app is closed.
Aside from the master password that protects everything in the app, each file storage can be protected by a separate password. Everything you put inside is encrypted until unlocked. Both the master and storage password can be saved to your Keychain as well.
While hiding files is Concealer’s standout feature, it also lets you store anything else you might want to keep secure. This includes accounts and their passwords, credit card info, and generic notes that you want to keep to yourself.
There are a few templates available for various types of accounts and cards, as well as a password generator for more secure keys.
There are plenty of apps around with password managing functionality, but not many allow you to hide files as well, and certainly not in such an accessible manner. The fact that you can use one file storage for free makes Concealer an even more appealing choice, as you can store as much content as you want in there.
If you want to take advantage of its other features as well, you’re going to need to buy a license, but you can also just use it to hide files without any size limitation, as long as you only use one storage.
