Identifying the IP address for all the devices connected to your local area network can be a challenge without the proper tools, but it does not mean that you cannot find utilities designed for this specific purpose.

LanScan is a minimalist application that will scan your entire network, allowing you to view all available IP addresses, their MAC addresses, their hostnames and the associated vendors for each device. What’s more, LanScan is using ARP packets to determine the full IP range.

To get started, simply press the “Lan your Scan” button and the application takes care of the rest. In the main area you will be able to view all available connections and sort them by IP, MAC, hostname or vendor.

LanScan is able to detect configured interfaces, such as Ethernet, Virtual interfaces or Airport. At the same time, is using the following hostname resolutions: SMB for Windows devices, mDNS for Apple devices and DNS.

In the bottom right corner of the main window you can see how many devices have been detected in total, while the “Edit Hostname” button placed in the top toolbar enables you to adjust the name of any device.

Moreover, you can extract the available data by choosing to copy the information to your clipboard via the contextual menu.

To sum it all up, LanScan provides a simple solution for visualizing all the devices connected to your LAN, their IP address and other types of useful information that will help you manage your network.
