IP Scanner For Mac

IP Scanner is a self-explanatory macOS application capable to scan your entire local area network and reveal the identity of all machines and Internet devices connected to the LAN.

From IP Scanner’s main window you can view a list with all discovered devices and obtain an overview of your network. What is more, you can customize the way in which you view your LAN by changing the display name and icons of the devices connected to the network.

Moreover, you can decide what type and amount of information is displayed in the network overview. The Display tab under the Preferences window helps you hide or show the MAC addressees, DNS or “Last seen” column.

On top of that, you can increase the size of the font, enable the cumulative mode and use the Dark theme. You can also set the device timeout, highlight recent devices and display the current Ping status.

The above mentioned cumulative mode helps you view the network changes that might occur over a period of time. You can also choose to display devices that were once present but are no longer visible. You can also view which devices are actively or passively present.

IP Scanner helps you create a whitelist with all known and trusted devices, filter the displayed devices and view new or identify unwanted network guests. You can also sort the network list by device name, Mac address, IP address or Last seen status.

IP Scanner can work with Growl to display notifications for newly discovered devices or changes in the device state. The contextual menu helps you add a device to the Blacklist or Whitelist, inspect device, ping the device, scan ports or open the device in Bowser or VNC.
