CheetahWatch is designed to work with most Huawei USB modems (Huawei E220 or E270 USB HSDPA models are supported) and enable you to monitor details about the connection from the comfort of the status bar. The app detects connected Huawei devices, and you get status updates via the status bar icon.

Within the CheetahWatch status bar menu, you get to see details about the network connection established by the Huawei USB modem plugged into your Mac together with information about the carrier.

The same CheetahWatch menu enables you to launch a connection, change the APN, set the network mode, or enable the PIN request. At the same time, you can launch the modem status or the usage history windows.

The CheetahWatch connection log provides information about the connection time, duration, and the amount of data sent or received. The logs can be cleared manually, or you can schedule to have them reset daily, weekly, or monthly.

Besides the connection status, CheetahWatch can also evaluate the signal strength and provide statistical details for the upload and download speed and transfer. The app can also show the connection time in the status bar.

Within the CheetahWatch Preferences, you can configure the app to issue a warning when the total usage or the received/transmitted amount of data gets over a certain threshold. The alert can appear again at user selected time intervals.

CheetahWatch is a minimalist application that can prove useful if you are relying on a Huawei USB modem for your network connection. The app can provide details about the carrier and connection, signal strength, or traffic statistics.

For your convenience, CheetahWatch will stay in the status bar, and you can see the signal strength and the connection time at a glance. Naturally, you must expand the CheetahWatch menu and activate the Modem Status window to get access to more information.
