OBS Studio For Mac

OBS is an open source project designed to help you grab video or audio content from your desktop, and to broadcast it live using different live streaming services. The app is currently in alpha stage, but its capabilities can be extended via community developed plug-ins.

The OBS user interface is represented by a single window where you get to organize your scenes, to manage your audio and video sources, and to preview the area of the screen that will be captured. OBS allows you to use different sources for each scene, so you will be able to quickly switch between multiple windows or desktop areas during live broadcast.

OBS is able to capture your entire desktop, but you can also choose to include only specific windows: the app automatically detects all open windows, including the ones that don’t have names, and you can select which one you want to capture via a drop down menu.

OBS allows you to integrate specific image files, to capture the input or output audio, to grab real time gameplay, or to include text labels. Additional plug-ins that are available on the developer’s website allow you to capture a browser’s content, or to switch the video source.

Noteworthy is that OBS can simply record the video, and store the FLV file on your local drive, but also enables you to live broadcast the content. OBS comes with support for some of the most popular live streaming services, such as YouTube, Twitch, highbox.tv, DailyMotion, and so on.
