HDHomeRun TV tuners are designed to be connected directly to your router and allow you to watch digital TV on various media devices over the internet. You can watch content live or record for later viewing, and everything can be accessed from separate devices seamlessly.

In order to use these devices, you will need software to operate them, which is where the HDHomeRun app comes into play. It includes a player and recorded module, and it enables you to watch live TV while providing a 24-hour program guide. It allows pausing for up to sixty minutes and even lets you rewind for up to five minutes to catch anything you’ve missed.

The software offers a unified interface across all supported devices: Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, Xbox One, Nvidia Shield, Fire TV, and Roku. Among the included features, we can mention automatic channel rescanning, 5.1 Dolby surround sound, and close captioning.

The Mac app features a simple installation process, during which you can choose to include the HDHomeRun Record module, which is used in conjunction with the HDHomeRun DVR. Boradcast channels are available in various countries, including the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.
