Drop to GIF For Mac

Drop to GIF is an uncomplicated Mac OS X application that enables you to convert a movie sequence into a GIF animation for smooth sharing. Just drag and drop the video file on top of the Drop to GIF main window, and the utility will start the animation process right away.

To use the Drop to GIF conversion capabilities, you can either manually feed the original video, or set up a watch folder. That directory will be monitored at all times by the Drop to GIF app: once you place a new video in that folder, Drop to GIF will automatically launch the animation process.

Note that Drop to GIF places the output GIF in the same directory as the source video file. That aspect cannot be modified in any way: you will have to manually move the GIFs to a location of your choice as soon as the conversion is over.

Via the Drop to GIF Preferences window, you can choose to match the GIF framerate to the original video, or manually input the FPS value. Moreover, you can set up the maximum image size and the output picture quality (tiny and distorted, okay and small, so-so, great but big, or best quality large file).

At the same time, you can choose to have Drop to GIF automatically reveal the GIF file when the conversion is done. While Drop to GIF is animating the GIF, the application also allows you to preview the source video in its main window.
