The Compositor OS X application packs all the elementary processing tools that one should expect from an image editor while providing access to built-in filters that can create very artistic effects.

The Compositor user interface is represented by multiple panels that contain frequently used image editing tools. The app allows you to open image files in the canvas area, or you can start blank new projects.

The Compositor toolbox panel includes both selection and drawing tools while the Brush Control and the Colors panels allow you to personalize their output. Note that each action will be registered in the History panel, even if you choose to undo a move.

Compositor's Snapshots tool offers you the possibility to capture screenshots of your work for documentation purposes. At the same time, if you are not satisfied with the results, you can always go back to a previous version of the project.

For your convenience, Compositor also allows you to apply different types of effects to your images in order to sharpen the colors, to blur or distort certain areas, to create grainy effects, and so on.

What’s more, the Compositor utility packs a collection of actions that can create astounding effects with a simple mouse click.

Note that the Compositor actions are applied to the current canvas content, which means that if you want to see how the original looks with a particular effect, you must make sure to go back to the initial snapshot.

On the whole, the Compositor app is able to deal with elementary image editing tasks, such as resizing, cropping, or making traditional adjustments, as well as help you give an original look to your graphic projects with very little effort.
