SeaView is a graphical multiple sequence alignment editor developped by Manolo Gouy.
SeaView is able to read and write various alignment formats (MSF, NEXUS, CLUSTAL, PHYLIP, FASTA, MASE).
SeaView allows to manually edit the alignment, and also to run DOT-PLOT or CLUSTALW/MUSCLE programs to locally improve the alignment.
What's new in SeaView 4.6.2:
- NEW: trimming-rule to shorten long sequence names in phylogenetic trees
- NEW: 64-bit version for the MS Windows platform
- NEW: multiple-tree windows
- NEW: seaview uses PHYLIP v3.696 to compute parsimony trees
