M! For Mac

M! is a comprehensive tool that can be used by organ builders to diagram the diameter and length of the instrument's pipes. This is an important process in determining its timbre, and this application seeks to provide an intuitive method of performing this task on your Mac.

Needless to say, this app has a very specific user base, and while it does come with extensive documentation, a certain amount of technical knowledge is required to understand and make use of its features.

When first launching M! you are presented with an interface that is split into three main parts. You can view a list of all the inserted stops, organized into groups, a spreadsheet containing the added data and an interactive graph.

Any of these sections can be disabled at any time, should you have no need for the functionality they provide.

When adding a new stop, M! adds a new column to the spreadsheet view that shows its diameters. You can insert more columns that display other variables or enter comments and simple formulas.

M! extracts information from the spreadsheet to display data in graphical form. The generated chart is fully interactive, as you can drag anchor points to modify measurements without having to insert the new values manually.

All three sections are updated automatically whenever a parameter is modified in the spreadsheet or graph.

The spreadsheet values can be saved to Excel files, and you can choose which data sections should be included. Diameter scales can also be exported as 2D DXF files, which can be opened by most CAD applications.
