Calq is an easy to use, on demand calculator. The idea behind Calq is to have a calculator handy when you need it do some basic calculations quickly.

Calq is there every time you need it, and it's not in the way when you don't need it.

The intended way to use Calq is by adding it as a startup item in your account preferences. But off course you can also start Calq by double-clicking the icon.

Calq you will be presented with a little welcome message, and after that the preference window is shown, so you can set it up to your liking.

After confirming the preferences by clicking OK, you notice is that nothing seems to happening, because no icon appears in the dock. But don't worry, Calq is now sitting in the background waiting to be activated when you need it.

After Calq is started, you can activate it by using a hotkey combination. When Calq is activated it will present a small window that allows you to do calculations through the keyboard. The window will stay up as long is keyboard activity is sensed.

If you don't type anything for a few seconds Calq will hide itself again until you activate it again. Calq will also hide itself immediately if you activate another application.
